Trusted Sedation Dentist – Kansas

Get to Know
Brian Heck, DDS, PA

Dr. Heck loves taking broken items that don’t function properly (including smiles!) and making them look brand-new again. He has over two decades of experience as a dentist and is dedicated to helping his patients live healthier, happier lives by providing them with top-tier dental treatments. To learn more about him, keep reading below.

Why Did You Decide to Become a Dentist?

Dr. Heck first became interested in exploring dentistry as a career because of his dad, who was a dentist who worked in Lawrence for countless years. He would go in with him on the weekends and help his dad’s patients who were in pain feel more comfortable. He realized that this made him feel good, and he loved seeing patients happier when they left the dental office. Dentistry also allowed him to channel his inner artist and problem-solver, which really sealed the deal for a lifelong career.

Where Did You Study Dentistry?

For his undergraduate studies, Dr. Heck attended the University of Kansas. He then went on to earn his Doctor of Dental Surgery at the University of Missouri at Kansas City. Today, he spends countless hours sharpening his skills and keeping up with the latest techniques and advancements in his field by taking continuing education courses. He has attended training by Spear, Implant Direct, The Dick Barnes Group, Clif Ruddle, Mercer, and Arrowhead, as well as an Osteoready implant mini residency. His two passions in dentistry are sedation and restoring smiles with full mouth rehabilitation treatments. He’s even certified in Level 1 Anesthesia through DOCS Education.

Outside of the Dental Office, What Do You Like to Do?

Dr. Heck is lucky to have a close family that does practically everything together. Him and his wife Angie have two children, named Raeleigh and Vaughn. Both of them enjoy sports and drama, and he loves getting to see them perform and compete. He enjoys gardening, hiking, tending to their vineyard, and vacationing with his family. They’ve been to several different places, but he especially loves going to Colorado, the Cayman Islands, Mexico, Florida, and South Carolina.

In his personal free-time, Dr. Heck loves fly fishing, biking, riding his motorcycle, chopping wood, and watching basketball with his son.
